My blog for December 16, 2011
I have never been much for keeping journals nor blogs, but if I had been, I'd have so much to tell.
Mainly, I'd be able to tell about my experiences in the haunted house that I lived in during my ninth and tenth grade years.
Then I'd be able to talk about my attempts at writing the great American Novel. Why am I still, at age 58, trying to get that written? Why don't I just rework my Haunting of Jones Manor stories that are actually the cumulation of that attempt?
At the time, I'd first made the story, I had titled it, Beth Riley at Jones Manor and it ended very badly. Almost all the characters had died. Not the way a novel...especially a great novel....should end.
It's my only story that, while being inspired by Dark Shadows, is not a fan fiction story.
My character, Lalinda Jones, was actually the only character that was closely worked as a Dark Shadows character for she was based on Lalinda Collins, the handle I used when I first came online.
Would it be better to abandon all that I have been working on for the new novel or to just rework The Haunting of Jones Manor instead?
I really don't know.
The new one is so hard because I'd have to remember what it was like at age sixteen and to tell you the truth, I don't even think that I want to go back to that age. LOL!
If I rework The Haunting of Jones Manor, do I do it on this with a script font or on the notepad in the current script I've been using for cards and trivia?
I have a lot to do next week and will probably not do much writing at all anyway.
I'm just getting in the mood today and so am doing a little blogging today.
I think I will put this on my blog page. It will not show up as script, I'm sure, but I will check out what I can do.
Doing my writing on the computer has always been easier than handwritten in longhand. However, many great writers have written their great works in longhand.
It's just that I am not as articulate in my handwriting as I was when I was a girl.
Anyway, I think I've written enough now.
