My memorial for Jasper
Jasper, do you remember how you never far from us did roam?
Jasper, do you remember the walks we used to take?
And visit with Tripp, Harry and Motley and the other friends we did make?
Jasper, do you remember the many bites you gave me?
Many were well deserved I imagine you thought, you see.
Jasper, do you remember how I loved you oh so much
And wanted to give you many hugs and kisses, but you didn't want to be touched.
Jasper, do you remember that I couldn't give you the shots
And had to take you to the vet for awhile it seemed like a lot.
Then I learned just how to do it and for awhile you'd let me try,
But each time I had to do it, we both felt bad and cried.
Jasper, do you remember the last day we were together?
It was so cold out and there were so many crows who were birds of a feather.
Jasper, do you remember as we let you go your way
That Jack and I were with you and cried that dreadful day?
Jasper, I hope you remember the good times with the sad
And have a great time with family and friends where all is fun and nothing is bad.
I hope you find my Michael Kitty and give him hugs from me
I miss him and I miss you and all the others and that's how things should be.
Mama is letting you go now and will think of you every day
As she writes the blogs and posts them, knowing you have much to say.
